Full Time Artist ? Full Time Mom

Don't ask me how people do it. Because I have no clue. It's hard enough to be a jack of all trades when it comes to motherhood, I can only imagine having no support, never being able to see your children because of work, or any of the extremities life throws at you.

Being a stay-at-home-mom or homemaker, whatever you want to call it is HARD, but it is necessary in my view. Something that society has gone backwards in. I can't imagine putting my child in daycare and only seeing him a few hours a day, letting someone else raise him practically. (Not bashing on those who have their children in daycare, just a strong opinion of mine)

But HOW DOES ANYONE GET ANYTHING DONE AROUND HERE BEING A SAHM??

The first thing I had to do was accept I will always be on the clock. Literally. 24/7. No breaks. Not even to poop.

The second thing is you do what you can when you can. There is no "schedule". At least I try to make one but things happen especially with a toddler where naps are not taken or errands run longer than usual.

The third thing is if I really want to pursue a career in art while taking care of my baby, WHILE being pregnant with my second, I seriously need to want it. And I mean WANT it.. bad.

I already gave up my career as a teacher (gladly) to be home with my baby. I miss my students so so much but it doesn't amount up to the good I know I am doing being here with my son. Almost everyone is capable of doing this if you have a partner. Just know that there are a lot of sacrifices to be made to live on one income and no, you don't need to be rich.

I am so fortunate to have a hardworking man by my side that goes above and beyond to give our family even things we do not need, but it is possible to do without all the extras. Again, sacrifice. Whether it be downsizing your home/car(s), thrifting, cutting out Netflix or other monthly plans, never going out to eat, or selling stuff you don't use anymore.

Anyways, how am I doing the whole full time artist gig? I'm honestly barely doing it right now. I only paint a little at a time because cleaning and cooking honestly take up most of my day. But, I am starting to build a semi-routine where I work out, paint, clean, eat, play, and so on. Things don't always go as planned but it's something that needs to be worked on daily. Overall, my son is the most important thing (after my faith and my hubby). Any career can either be put on hold or slowed down to be there for my baby as he grows.

So, let's see where this takes me!
